As it is, in a cardio exercise, the focus is on maximizing the oxygen intake inside the body.
As the main goal of a cardio exercise, is to maximize the oxygen intake inside the body, it would therefore be better for you, to go for an exercise, which would need a lot of involvement of the muscle. The following are some of the cardio exercises, which you can opt for, in order to achieve your goal of weight loss, in the best way:
1. Swimming
Swimming is by far one of the most effective cardio exercises, which can help you in your efforts to lose weight. What makes swimming so effective in cutting down the flab, is the fact, that you are losing weight in more than one ways, all at the same time. Firstly, you burn calories while you are swimming, by way of physical work out. Secondly, your body temperature gets lowered, as long as you stay under water and your body burns some extra calories, to bring it back to normal.
2. Lawn Tennis
Lawn tennis can be another cardio exercise, which can help you to cut down on your weight. A game of lawn tennis requires, minimum two members, which is quite easy to manage. Tennis is a very effective cardio exercise and its effectiveness lies in the fact, that in a game of tennis, not only your body does all the work, but your mind is at work as well.
Due to this reason, you burn out more calories, than what you may actually do in case of plain simple physical work out. Apart from that; who knows, you may even get to meet the likes of Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi, in a tennis court.
3. Walking

Cycling is also an excellent cardio exercise, which is quite helpful in burning fat, improving the body metabolism, as well as ornamenting your body with other health benefits. Typically, cycling for an hour everyday may even help you lose more than four pounds of your weight in a month.
Cardio exercises are an excellent option, as far as weight loss is concerned. You may choose any one or more of the above options, as well as many more options, which I could not mention, due to space constraints.
